SCHOLARSHIPS FOR HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS
High school seniors who attend a Darke County high school or are home-schooled in Darke County may apply for a Darke County Foundation scholarship by March 31, 2021. (Seniors from neighboring counties applying for Pohl Transportation Scholarship see below.*)
The application for high school seniors opens Feb. 15, 2021. Scholarships are available to students pursuing 4-year or 2-year degrees, or shorter vocational certificates. One application allows you to be considered for all categories of scholarships. Awards are based on the following criteria (not necessarily in this order): grade point average, ACT score, activities, essay and financial need. Some awards are merit-based without regard to financial need. Some awards do not put a strong emphasis on ACT score.
The Darke County Foundation uses a reimbursement method of awarding scholarships. Potential recipients will be announced at the high school graduation or awards program. Scholarship money will be disbursed following the student’s first semester (or quarter) in college, providing the student earns at least a 2.75 grade point average in that grading period.
If you have any questions, please contact the Darke County Foundation at (937) 548-4673 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
*Applicants for Pohl Transportation scholarship may attend school in Auglaize, Darke, Miami, Mercer or Shelby counties.
